This is my submission for monthly theme. We were supposed to do an Insect-O-Gram, choosing one insect and "turn" it into an Haute Couture look. As soon as I read the challenge I wanted to choose a moth... and after finishing my drawing I read about the "no butterfly" restriction But since I'm very close to deadline already I'm submitting this one now and leave it up the the judges if I can participate in this monthī challenge...
Anyways, here are the three things we had to include in our comment: name of insect: Evening Primrose Moth [link]
reason for choosing: As I said above I wanted to do a moth - because of their cute little fur coat. I've seen plain white or plain black ones in museums before. And while I was searching the net I stumbled upon this pink beauty with the white fur coat
description of design: I did a floor lenght evening gown - and wanted to show this to you as well as the coat. So I did the second drawing without the coat. There you can see a neckholder dress. The white part around the neck is organza. The white at the bottom is something feathery/furry as well as the second line on the dress. She as a high slit at the front which she can wear with white 3/4 leggings underneath - or nothing at all The little bolero coat is made of fake fur with a light pink bow. I added black (and white) shoes to loosen up the color scheme - and matching it with her hair color.
Thanks^^ Oh, and I was thinking really hard what kind of hair she should have... Finally I decided on a open look with a few strands The antennae where always supposed to be the strands from the coat.
it's great! it does look like the moth (what a beauty indeed!) and yet, it looks like a real outfit! the idea is simple and elegant at the same time! superb!!
